Full Renovation in Sagasta I

VIDEO

The renovation was carried out in a beautiful 1900 building. We tried to preserve most of the original elements of the building by putting them into value. We reconsidered the distribution and adapted it to more current uses. Originally, the house was very compartmentalized, with several small rooms that were communicated through a long curved corridor. Our intention was to generate more open spaces and link areas of compatible uses.

We generated a large entrance hall, open to the living room and separated from the kitchen by a sliding door, which was recovered from another area of the house and restored. We incorporated the long curved corridor to the kitchen space, which divides the public area from the private one, giving access to the private bedrooms through a hidden door. At the back of the house there is a small living room that serves as a lobby for the three bedrooms located in that area. The original Melis pine wood of the floors was restored in the areas where it was possible. Oak wood was used in the kitchen. In some rooms, the original hydraulic floor was preserved by fusing it with Mortex which unifies all the private spaces, including the bathrooms. Throughout the house, mouldings, doors and precious antique elements were restored to enhance the original style of the house.
